Description
This match, organised by policeman and champion wrestler Jim Armstrong (who was from Junee but based in Glebe) preceded the First Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground between Australia and New Zealand. Junee won 18-0. Four of the teenagers (John Guthrie, Paul Guthrie, John Mooney and Max Palmer) would be in Junee's Maher Cup winning team of 1957. Also on the program was the President's Cup final with future Maher Cup star Bernie Nevin at five-eighth for Newtown.
