Description

At Fisher Park. On Sunday 13 July 1947 Junee provided ample proof of the folly of two matches per weekend. After defending the Weissel Cup on Saturday they rested the maximum permitted players for the Sunday Group 9 Competition against Cootamundra and lost 121-4. When Herb Narvo asked the timekeepers to put everyone out of their misery by ringing the bell ten minutes early, they obliged. Narvo expressed his disgust and advised Group 9 that they had a choice to make - Cup or Competition. They couldn’t coexist.
